Current
New Learning Centre
NIIT announced to establish a new learning centre to be located at Kemena, Bintulu.
MUET
NIIT registered as MUET exam centre with the intention to help those students who wish to further their studies in the degree programmes to be more convenient by taking the examination in the college. NIIT registered as member or PERINTIS (The Sarawak Association of Private Institutions of Higher Education). NIIT continued to offer more program to the students namely Diploma in Ecotourism, Diploma in Retail Management, Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons) in collaboration with IUKL. Those programmes are given the certificates of provisional accreditation by MQA.
NIIT alumni
NIIT alumni was officially formed under the Societies Regulations. 1966 NIIT collaborated with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to reassert the quality of its Diploma in Accountancy. This program is now hold accreditation by ACCA. NIIT was given the certificates of provisional accreditation for Diploma in Marketing, Diploma in Entrepreneurship, Diploma in Event Management, Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Diploma in Actuarial Finance, Diploma in Computer Science and Certificate in Businiss.
3rd Chief Executive
Dr. Paul Lau took over as the third Chief Executive of NIIT. Learning Management System (LMS) was introduced as the learning platform with number of features and promote collaborative, student-centered learning. NIIT was granted the approval by JPT to conduct a short course – Intensive English Proficiency.
Campus Management System
Campus Management System (CMS) was adopted to improve efficiency by synergizing the workflow across administration, school and students.
Introduce of Schools
NIIT introduced different schools to manage the available academic programmes namely, School of Accounting & Business, School of Hospitality & Tourism, School of Science and Computing and Language Academy. NIIT was given the approval to recruit international students by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Malaysia. NIIT was registered as Sage UBS training centre to provide fundamentals of computerized accounting required for accounts or bookkeeping personnel to gain entry to the job market.
First Chief Executive
Madam Magdeline Wee was officially announced as the First Chieft Executive of NIIT. NIIT offered its first diploma programme – Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) in collaboration with NIIT, India. NIIT grew steadily and offered other diploma programmes – Diploma in Secretary ship, Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Accounting and Diploma in Sport Management.
